At 11:00 a.m., we will meet outside the Rafael Alberti park Rafael Alberti Park to start a walking tour through the historic center of Ubrique. Let’s go there!
We will go first to the fountain of the Nine Spoutsthe most monumental of this town of Cádiz. Did you know that it is of Arabic origin? We will review the Muslim past of Ubrique and we will also approach the Roman road to delve even deeper into the history of the town.
After this introduction, we will talk about one of the most deeply rooted traditions of Ubrique, the leather craft. We will pass through the area where the old tanners’ workshops were located to learn more about this important industry.
Afterwards, we will see the exterior of the
convent of the Capuchins
the hermitage of San Juan de Letran, the parish church of
